International Day of Peace 2013

We are so excited to celebrate International Day of Peace this Saturday! Established in 1981, International Day of Peace is an annual day dedicated to celebrating peace worldwide. Each year has a different themed focus; this year’s is Education for Peace.

We have joined the global celebration each year since 2010 with a full day of free events and activities for all ages. Check out the day’s schedule below!

Schedule of Events

11:00am – 11:45am /// Official Welcome with New Earth Drumming

11:00am -2:30pm /// Smiling Monkey Yoga: Yoga for Kids (Ages 3-12)

11:00am – 4:00pm /// Creation Stations with:
Chef Jeff Venier & Whole Foods Market Newport Beach; Chuck Jones Center for Creativity; Compassionate Communication & Compassionate Parenting; Love You 365 & The Whole Purpose; m.a.m.a. earth; Spiritual and Religious Alliance for Hope; The Ecology Center; and The Tiyya Foundation!

1:30pm – 2:00pm /// Storytime with Cynthia Callard

2:00pm – 2:30pm /// Peace Walk led by Spiritual and Religious Alliance for Hope

3:00pm – 3:30pm /// Studying Peace presented by Chip Royston & Fran Faraz
